Mr Boombastic (part 2)

Here we go. My US artillery for Flames of War is finally done and dusted, and effectively allows me to draw a line under any major 15mm painting projects for a while.  I've still got a box of German infantry and some M4A4 Shermans/Fireflys but they will be side projects.

So without further waffle

Mr Boom-bastic (part 1)

Well here we go, two posts in the space of a week!

I recently picked up 8 sextons to round off my Polish armoured force. Why 8? Well a friend happened to be selling 8, and for £50 plus postage I couldn't resist.

Note the application of some GW's new texture paint. Too bright on application but nothing a liberal dose of Badab black cant fix.  Note also the decals denoting the Polish 1st Armoured.

I have to say I find painting tanks considerably less tiresome than 15mm infantry. Although I will shortly start painting up my Warhammer Empire, there will still be the odd dalliance in tank painting both at 15mm and 40k scale :)

Enjoy - any comments/criticisms appreciated

Blood on the risers

It's taken me quite a long time, but my 101st airborne are finally finished :) I was planning on mainly using them with the list from Hell's Highway as I have some Irish Guards Shermans to use alongside them, but with the Bulge books on their way, I decided to base them with the ardennes campaign in mind. The bases were a bit of a trial & error so some look better than others. Overall I am fairly pleased with how they look. I will go back and add marking at a later date.

Ok, so I've not actually finished these yet so no pics... :(

The photos don't do the models justice. Not that they are great but they do look better in the flesh.

Comments always appreciated :)
